In addition to leisure provision within the retail and hotel developments on the Vaux site, significant green space is planned, particularly on the river edge. High quality public realm will contribute to ensuring that Vaux becomes a leisure focus for Sunderland.
Sunderland arc’s vision for the Vaux site is to bring new employees and residents into the very heart of the City, increasing the population during the day and the evening, capitalising on the recent investment in Metro and creating vibrant new urban places that convey a positive image of the city, close to the Wearmouth Bridge ‘gateway’.
