Overlooking the proposed Vaux and Farringdon Row developments which lie across the River Wear from the site, a high quality hotel scheme would perfectly complement and benefit from Sunderland AFC’s Stadium of Light.
The development will build on the success of the Stadium of Light, focusing on leisure-based activities to create a centre of excellence for sport for the north east.
A hotel development would be welcomed at Stadium Park on either the northern area of land adjacent to the roundabout serving the site entrance or on the site to the south west of the Stadium of Light, both of which were reclaimed as part of the restoration of the former Wearmouth Colliery and therefore available for immediate development.
