Located in a prominent position on the north bank of the River Wear and overlooking the proposed Vaux and Farringdon Row developments, Sheepfolds effectively forms the latter phases of a combined mixed-use development encompassing Sheepfolds and the adjoining Stadium Park.
The development will build on the success of the Stadium of Light, focusing on leisure-based activities to create a centre of excellence for sport for the north east.
The Concept plan for the site envisages the development of a number of leisure based activities in the Sheepfolds area which will ensure that the “Sports Village” will attract visitors from all over the north east and beyond, thus ensuring the developments status as a centre of excellence for sport in the north east.
