David is a chartered surveyor with over 20 years regeneration experience in the North East. David joined Sunderland arc in 2003 and since then has been involved in setting the strategy for delivery of the arc's projects and has overseen their implementation. David led the arc’s Mid-Term Review, conducted by Prof. Parkinson of Liverpool John Moores University, European Institute for Urban Affairs. The review concluded that although there was still much to be done, the arc had set the right regeneration framework for the city and had succeeded in raising Sunderland’s profile, attracting prestigious, national developers who had not previously contemplated investing in the city.
Before joining the arc David worked in the private sector gaining extensive project and cost management experience. David is a board member of the Local Strategic Partnership and committee member on the local Chamber of Commerce.
