Jocelyn Maxfield has lived in the North East for the past 25 years. In the last 10 she and her husband transformed the former derelict Seaham Hall and Serenity Spa into the North East’s only Five Star hotel, which includes the only restaurant in the North East with a Michelin Star. These properties were sold in 2008 to the Von Essen Hotel Group. She has been responsible for the marketing and interior design of Serenity Spa and urban day spa Serenity in the City and the refurbishment and re-branding of North East-based restaurants Fisherman’s Lodge and Treacle Moon. In addition to this she is on the Board of the Percy Hedley Foundation Fundraising Committee and a:design association.
